Over £4000 now raised - THANKS TO ALL WHO DONATED
We made it, both teams got to Looe safely and without an accident, although the car team did have a problem with leakages.
What started with a joke during a morning break back in October, was considered too big to organise and logistically challenging, actaully ended up being a huge success – largely down to the support that we have received from friends and family and even larger-ly down to the enthusiasm and support that can be found throughout the benefiting charity
The National Star College.
Those joining us on for the Race to Looe weekend won’t forget it any time soon......whilst we all wanted to raise as much money as possible for the College, ultimately we wanted to have fun.
Its probably worth thanking a few people at this point – as one person can have an idea, but it takes many many people to make the idea happen...
Simon Nuding – from Rib-it.com – We met through a random email, from a random website, asking a random question *can we hire your boat*......6 months later we’re enjoying a pint the night before the race and scratching our heads trying to figure out how we met such a generous, helpful and charismatic young man!
Caryl Barefoot – The head of the Boat Team possy! and co-organiser. Sorry for tripling your workload and making you come in for photos on a Wednesday (twice) - I most certainly couldn't have done it all on my own - so a mere thank you doesn't really cover it. Thanks also for *carrying* my car to Lymington......at least it wasn't leaking on the start line :o)
Tina Lindsey – Kept my head cool when my engine was very very hot. Drove the support Minibus enabling us to live like kings at the campsite, carrying kit and beer. Tina, you can be my *Wing Minibus Person* anytime :o)
Jane Cima – Thanks for putting up with the *can you*, *have you*, *will you*, *could you*’s for the last 4 months! At times I fear we doubled your work. I now realise how hard fundraising is, and my hat goes off to you guys.......*keep the money coming*!!
